The Mx Group has been
active in the South African healthcare industry for almost
a decade.
During this time it has grown to become the most established independent

The mission of the Mx

risk management programmes. The objective is to underpin the long-term healthcare

Department of Health, which is to make healthcare more accessible

PROGRAMMES
The approach of the Mx
Health Institute to HIV/AIDS prevention is extremely
practical, easy to implement and community focussed. It spreads its
message of
behavioural change with the assistance of highly respected and trusted
peer
educators and fellow employees. These individuals are used to inform and
educate
co-workers, their families and community members.
Before training commences,
surveys are conducted to measure the behavioural
climate in each individual company or member profile. Thereafter a
baseline of the
knowledge and practices used within the company is compiled.
Peer educators and co-ordinators
are selected and trained by qualified professionals.
Follow-up sessions are held in the first year to support peer educators
and enable
them to build on their skills and broaden their knowledge.
