National Medical Plan has established a relationship with SANCA, where SANCA approved institutions provide in-patient and out-patient treatment for drug and alcohol addiction. The facility is available to all current National Medical Plan members (Plan Options 1 to 4) subject to members meeting the criteria as stipulated by SANCA. This programme is maintained and managed by an in-house Case Manager. Benefit is accorded for initial rehabilitation of 21 days care at National Medical Plans' rates. Further benefit is offered for follow-up after care for a period of one year. Failure to comply with the approved programme will result in withdrawal of benefit and the member becomes liable for all further costs related to rehabilitation. National
Medical Plan also offers a special adolescent programme together with
SANCA for children between the ages of 9 and 19 for alcohol and drug
