National Medical Plan has negotiated with Preferred Provider Negotiators
to provide an all inclusive optical benefit through selected Opticians.
 Professional Services
One consultation including glaucoma screening and central vision field
screening every two years and one contact lens re-examination per year.
Spectacle Lenses
Either
One pair of white (clear) single vision lenses of any prescription strength.
Or
One pair of white (clear) flat top acuity bifocal lenses of any prescription strength.
Or
One pair of white (clear) acuity multifocal lenses of any prescription strength.
And
One set of spectacle frames, including tints and hardenings, to the retail value of R300.
Or
Contact lenses to the retail value of R600.
A beneficiary may choose either contact
lenses OR spectacles every two years.
