National
Medical Plan has established a Tariff for chemotherapy and radiotherapy
for the treatment of cancer. This enables the system of claims payment
to be greatly enhanced and allows National Medical Plan to avoid introducing
treatment surcharges, imposing limits or increasing premiums and most
importantly provide benefit for chemotherapy and radiotherapy. In order
to avoid shortfalls, it will be necessary for members to establish that
their doctor's charges are at National Medical Plan tariff rate. If
doctor's charges are more than the National Medical Plan tariff rate,
the Scheme will only pay at the National Medical Plan rate and will
not be responsible for any shortfall which occurs. In order to qualify
for this benefit for treatment please ask your Oncologists to notify
the Medical Advisory Committee of National Medical Plan of your condition
and treatment in writing.
