All members will be posted with a comprehensive benefit guide as well as a member guide. Below are highlights from our 2010 benefits.
For 2010 KeyHealth’s portfolio of benefits, include the Platinum, Gold, Silver and Bronze options where the benefits for most of the disciplines have all been upped by around 10%. We are however proud to introduce a new benefit option for 2010 the Bronze +Plus option.
PLATINUM
Platinum is designed for those who have above average requirements from their medical cover. If you suffer from any continued illness conditions or have serious chronic conditions and need more, then look no further than Platinum. Platinum also provides you with,
Unlimited day-to-day benefits, after reaching and crossing the annual threshold.
Additional Chronic conditions are covered – making a total of 55 conditions that are covered.
Specialists in-hospital are paid 200% of the Medical Scheme’s Tariff.
Unlimited benefits for the dreaded diseases and excellent prosthesis benefits
Great specialised dentistry benefits.
Excellent optical benefits.
GOLD
Gold remains our old standby, being the most popular benefit amongst families and those who receive a subsidy from their employer. This year:
There is a greater allocation of day-to-day funds to the savings account, where unused funds are carried over on an annual basis so that you can build up a reserve for when you might need it.
You still have chronic cover for those life threatening chronic conditions that form part of the Chronic Disease List.
Specialists in-hospital are paid 150% of the Medical Scheme’s Tariff.
Comprehensive dentistry is also available.
SILVER
Silver has been optimised for healthier younger families, who often need a little more for visits to the GP and routine benefits, but who do not intend to have any planned or elective procedures done I hospital. Trauma admissions to hospital carry no additional co-payments, however elective procedures may be subject to an admission fee.
More Day-today benefits
Cover for those life threatening chronic conditions that form part of the Chronic Disease List.
Dental benefits covered
BRONZE
Should prove attractive to those who are principally concerned with hospital cover, but there is also a little extra in that you have some cover available to purchase medication over the counter for the more common aliments and you also have basic dentistry available. This should make Bronze attractive to younger individuals and couples who have not yet started with a family.
With 150% of Medical Schemes Tariff available to Surgeons and Anaesthetists in-hospital, this option should give you peace of mind.
Plus as added value you have basic dentistry
BRONZE PLUS
Following the successful introduction of the Bronze option in 2009, a number of members asked us for a savings account to be added. And yes, we have heard your requests and are proud to introduce our new Bronze +plus option.
Exactly the same as the Bronze – hospital plan – you now have an additional savings component that makes the premium slightly higher, but which you have the peace of mind will all go to savings and if not used will allow you to build up a reserve for when needed.
HEALTH BOOSTER
Al of the above options is augmented by our great Health Booster programme.
KeyHealth is as concerned about prevention and early detection as it is about cure and to ensure this we have added the Health Booster benefit. The values of Health Booster benefit would normally be deducted form your day-to-day benefit, but with KeyHealth this is additional value added to your day-to-day. You must however, contact the Scheme prior to utilising the Health Booster benefit and obtain authorisation. Consider the added value indicated below that comes to you at no extra cost.

The KeyCap benefit option is discontinued from the portfolio as from 31 December 2009. KeyCap members are entitled to elect to move to any of the other benefit options, however, should KeyCap members have not indicated to the Scheme by 15 December which option they choose, they will automatically be placed on the Silver Benefit Option for 2010.
With some great changes and enhancements to our benefits for 2010, we trust that you will realise the value of dealing with not only an experienced team, but an experienced administration capable of assisting you in your time of need.
We do however, at all times, wish you a healthy 2010.
